Salado Winery Blog

So my husband and father-in-law took me to a new restaurant tonight and I fell in love with it. It is Johnnie’s BBQ (located right behind the Dairy Queen in Salado) http://johnnyssteaksandbbq.com/ . They had the Steak for two and I had the Stuffed baked potato. Both meals were WONDERFUL!!! Their steak was perfectly done with a nice seasoning on it and my baked potato was to die for! The stuffed baked potato is a big potato cut in half with sour cream, chopped brisket (with BBQ sause on it) and shredded cheddar cheese on top! The atmosphere is really neat too. They have lots of pictures and other things on the walls. The other nice thing is that you can take your own beer and wine in, to drink with your meal. If you are in the mood for BBQ or a nice salad or sandwich with laid back atmosphere. I would definitally recommend it!

Saturday, August 4th is the 41st Salado Art Fair (www.salado.com) and it is sure to be steamy!  After browsing the Art in the Park, come on over to Salado Wine Seller for jazz music and “Meet the Winemaker”.

Our wines pretty much crush the competition.   Like a power hammer, but bigger.

Our grapes are looking to put france and california out of business as well.
