Wine Tourism Day

Rootin' Tootin'

paired with red beans and rice

The first-ever Wine Tourism Day in North America will take place May 11th, 2013. Wineries, hotels, restaurants, and other wine tourism businesses across North America are offering special events to the public on this day to celebrate the importance (and fun) of wine tourism. Events differ and can range from wine pairing dinners to music events to structured tastings. Search for an event near you

We have decided to focus on the fun and we are going to offer a very unique wine pairing.  We will be pairing Rootin’ Tootin with red beans and rice–Louisiana style!  We think the light sweetness of the rose style wine will be a nice contrast to the spicy beans and plus the name Rootin’ Tootin’ just makes us think of eating too many beans!

Wine 101 class

don't be afraid--take our wine 101 class for beginners

don’t be afraid–take our wine 101 class for beginners

Friday, April 12, 7-9 pm

Join us for an “introduction to wine” class.  Ever feel intimidated by wine snobs? Come and hear why you should not!  We’ll talk about how to taste, what to look for, pairing wine, and a little wine history.  Don’t be bashful, come join us.

And yes, we’re using cute baby pictures to sell more wine, that’s why they call us SALADO WINE SELLER

Spring is coming!

spring is springing!

spring is springing!

The flowers have started at Salado Winery!  This weekend will be a great time to have a glass of wine on the porch and enjoy the early spring.  We’re open Saturday, 12-7 and Sunday 12-6.
